According to CNET, the new Air will be released around June with a Sandy Bridge ULV Core i5 2537M chip 1.4 GHz that can turbo to 2.3 GHz.
So for .17 GHz upgrade we are sacrificing around 30% graphic power?
is this a new news or is it the same thing they posted early this month?

Someone claim the got 43 mins frame time on the biadv with a core i860 and Linux, same CPU as the higher end iMac. That is the same as my 3Ghz 8 core Mac Pro. You think it is possible?
i think it was overclocked to 3.8 ghz or did i read that somewhere else?
I was looking at that and the link just gives me a whole bunch of binary text crap. I'm not sure what to do with that.

I think they were dreaming;) my i7 920 with ubuntu does normal frames in about 6 minutes, I think, I'm at work now so not absolutely sure but in that range. The mp is running normal frames at about 2 minutes.

But I have found that the issue may not be with my set up, it may be the wu are bad so I will work on that again tonight to see what happens if I can get a different wu. Here is some info. It's actually 2.4 grams, which may not be a huge difference per se but in a product with such tight parts tollerance to me suggest differences in parts used. It may be the white casing, it may be a reshaped chassis or even a different chip. iFixit will tell.

Trying to keep the gaudy logos and etc. to a minimum though. The moose/caribou is tolerable, and I nearly didn't buy the hoodie because of the enormous "ABERCROMBIE" on the sleeve, but it was only $30, so I'm not about to complain.
And a bunch of cheap photo accessories from DealExtreme... a hotshoe leveler, wireless Nikon remote (generic, unbranded version), new strap, a wideangle lens for my iPhone, and a couple of cheap filters for my lesser used lenses.

oh, I forgot to mention one good thing about this mouse. Presumably it will work correctly with the option "allow bluetooth devices to wake this computer." 3rd party mice wake the computer up over and over ever since 10.4.6 when that option is checked. Of course, it would be nicer if apple would just fix their stupid OS version so that all BT mice worked correctly and not just their own... :rolleyes:

This woman is obviously not thinking about the pain and suffering her loved ones will go through as they watch her health fail in the coming years. Diabetes can't be far off, and that will be the least of her worries.
Some people will do anything in this country to get their 15 minutes of fame. This might be the most disgusting (non-illegal) one I've ever seen. The fact that she's a mother makes it all the worse.
One hopes she will eventually get her head screwed on straight and use whatever money she's earned from this to get gastric bypass. But I won't hold my breath.

So all that space in the case just translates to lost space in the home. I'm a pretty average computer user at home and with the exception of my camera, iPod and printer, I have no external devices. Although I will be purchasing an external firewire drive at some point, I'd much rather have a small squarish metallic box on display behind my iMac than lose an extra three square feet of floor space due to needing a bigger desk. Perhaps when you factor in the cost, the lost square footage of the room your computer is in should be taken into account.

The Thunderbolt Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_(interface)) has a diagram showing the TB controller's access to things. The accompanying description ("Thunderbolt can be implemented on graphics cards, which have access to DisplayPort data and PCI express connectivity, or on the motherboard of new devices, such as the MacBook Pro.[5][17][22]") implies that a TB compatible PCIe graphics card could bring older systems up-to-date. That would be interesting.

Why on earth would this happen? Why would they edit it to include the ix.Mac.MarketingName? I don't understand. Is there any logical explanation? I don't think it is a typo because I don't think Apple is stupid enough to edit it just in order to put a typo in. Weird.
