dreams nightmares Home

this will be my third time saying (typing) this: touchdown in j-town beebs!

it had been long weeks, especially the lasts of them. more craps, more craps, fun, and sad tears. and now, i'd say my time in perth is almost dream-like, in a literal sense. it's almost like it never happened! the only proof that i DID live in perth is the increased number of friends in my FB account, the photos, my GRADES. even the emotions, smiles, happiness and worries seem so unreal. surreal. as my friend said and i quote:

by the time you go home, all that's happened overseas seems imagined. and by the time you go back out, you feel like you were jerked out of a dream.

(note to self: i never typed (said) nightmare OR the adj beautiful and the like)

this is... wrong. i should be having the time of my life, feeling fly (like a g6) by now, but it isn't happening. ridiculous notion indeed, that by the time PERTH is over, i'll have complete freedom and well, the sense of being completely liberated from all the pressing calls of nutty sched and schemes. but hey. still the same old same old 'so little time, so much to do'.

and now i don't know what to do, except mourn the fact that i missed djo's BRILLIANT victory against federer. SHIET. tell me again, why don't airports put up TVs for people whose flights got delayed, like me? well, well, dear perth, grow up! *throwing tantrum*

last, i miss high school. everything is almost easy then. damn! wake me up from this stupidly empty shell of a nightmare! (;.;) i wanna go HOME. and indeed, home is not your house.

tennis ft. australian open

OH MY GOD! i have been dying to start with this post! i told ya earlier, been watching long and hard oz open matches, and they are really getting to me. i play the sport; i LOVE the sport! and for those of you who've never played, you really DON'T know what it's like. i am not into mocking other sports or what, but i THINK that tennis is one of the hardest sport out there, ever. especially so for a top notch player, a PRO. ahh~ having your name down in the ATP web as one of the 10 top players of the world. a girl can always dream (and don't remind me that for women it's WTA, not ATP). as i quote myself~ a girl can always dream ~

and now you wonder, what makes tennis one of the toughest sport ever. darlings, it's not only the dynamics of the game, oh no! there are many things that go into not only a match in tennis, or a game, or a set for that matter. one point demands for ALOT.

1. stamina* (the most important in any tennis games) one match, on average, can take 2 hours plus plus. a game? maybe 45mins, but still, that's alot!
2. coordination. you need both your feet AGILE and the perfect form to intercept any hits, any lobs.
3. agility and reflexes. BE QUICK, be READY!
4. street smarts. be quick with with your head, form strategies in a spilt second, and go to action quick. gotta take any cahnces you got, it doesn't last a sec. players don't have that luxury!
5. perseverance. oh god. you cannot let your control slip, let alone your determination and self-will to win!
6. cool demeanor and head. with the super fast dynamics of the game, you can't afford getting emo and losing concentration and stamina, oh NO!
7. strength. one word: VITAL!
8. skills and techniques. fores, backs, smash, volleys, slices, flats, spins, kicks, lobs. and all others.
9. mentality. when facing better players, older players, or even junior players, you gotta be not nuts. do not be a mental- have a winner mentality, though.

okay. and now i'll do features on the top three players (male) in the world tennis league.

1. RAFAEL NADAL

the current no 1 player from espanol. i just watched his game last night, and the quality that i think makes him such a prized, invaluable player, first placer on top of that, is the fact that he chases for almost EVERY single ball there is to play on court. THAT, i'd say, show respect to his opponent, and showcases how he deserves to be on top! and he's got killer fores and backs, really an aggressive player, indeed. FEROCIOUSLY yum! ;p and throughout the open, he's the player i came to respect most :) *horrahh RAFA!

2. ROGER FEDERER

yes, indeed. THE LEGEND. holds the title first for longest (record) time. in fact, he's said to be the greatest ever player in the field. yes, he's calm, cool, collected, brilliant. however, the way i've been seeing him, though of course he is still a court MAESTRO, throughout this tournament, he seems to be under such constant pressure, and that he doesn't enjoy the game as much anymore. sure, he's still a god, but.... isn't enjoying the game why you play it in the first place? with the kind of money he's been getting, you can easily open up a new business or something, but isn't the fact that he still is on that court enough to claim his undying love for the sport? so why the frowns- or the resulting unforced errors count?

3. NOVAK DJOKOVIC <3

yeah, my bias- my love <3. he has the most entertaining play style i've ever seen. the variety of his shots, the simmering calm facade. he is definitely a 'must see to love' kinda player. yeahh, i know that lots of time, he's challenged referee's calls, but as i said, no one's perfect. he's only human after all, and compared to the tennis monster or the court god, i'll pick the lowly human any time ;) but in a way, i think that's why he cannot reach the top. but still, he's got an abundance of time ;)

- - -
we're now almost in the quaters of the oz open, and if you do watch, you'll see why the men's game are more 'melodic' to watch. they're more to the point, no-nonsense, and don't bitch! uwaahhhh~

well hualoww~

this is *procrastinate mode ON* blog post :D

tomorrow, yeahh people, a SATURDAY, i got 2 exams. GAWD. kill me. the exams are not THAT hard, but i am now a bag of nerves. anyway, that's why i'm blogging now, to tell you of my freaking day and well, stuffs and more stuffs.

see here, today, i went to see the academic advisor. good bye curtin is like the understatement of the day, but i'm not like crazy happy. i'll miss my friends down here, whoever i've come to be quite close with, just like how i miss going to work and all the fun i had there. i thought when i say 'i'll miss you guys' it's gonna be a big fat joke, but i actually really REALLY meant it. and to celebrate whatever it is worth celebrating: melb, getting 100 in stats test and getting highest in econs (yeahh, fuck yeah i am just THAT smart!) or only having 1 week to go till i really leave or whattheever, i went to hog's breath cafe and spent 45sth bucks. GOODNESS! like i need more things to worry other than my already-high grades. LOL. sorry peeps, i need the confidence boost :D and the steak really was good! the consistency...ahh, heaven on earth!

here's what i had:

(plus lamb cutlets sidedish) god i feel like such a pig.

NEXT UP: the AUS OPEN!
i was watching this super amazing cup, where i got to see all the top players of the world, and i just went kinda 'GAGA, ramamaaa, rama, ramamaa, rama, ulalaaa~'. well sorry, readers, i love tennis like hell, coz i actually play it myself. i love the sport! the dynamics, the modern high-class feel, the scoring, the PLAYERS. kyaaaaa, and now i'll show you the top player in my list. hold your breath, it's not: a) FEDERER (god of the court) or b) NADAL (monster of the ball), it's.....

NOVAK DJOKOVIC! :D :D
Country: Serbia
Birth Date: 22 May 1987
Birth Place: Belgrade, Serbia
Residence: Monte Carlo, Monaco
Height: 1.88 metres ( 6 ft. 2 in. )
Weight: 80 kilos ( 176 lbs. )
Plays: Right Handed
by the way, he is currently third rank in men's singles. GAWD. he's just sooooo....adorable. while federer may be the kind of tranquil player i envy, and nadal has the fierceness and persistence i admire, djokovic exudes a 'calm before storm' facade that makes me really 'gagaaaa~' for him. he may not be a legend or the forever third-place guy, but he's definitely my bestie boy! :D

(more news coming up on the cup later!)
