is it just me, or the update gave a semi-long loud beep at the part when i says to press and hold downt eh power button until power indicator flashes repeadily.???Yes it does give you that beep.

By surface bar, do you mean one of the implanted bars that are under your skin? I heard there was a place in SJ that does that, is that Pierce Ink? I soooo want one, but I don't know anyone in SF who does them.

Natalie did a tree frog (which she also drew for me) on the back of my right arm, and Idexa did blackwork moon cycles on my right forearm and a blackwork kitten between my breasts. They're pretty solid, and I've been happy with their work. Also, they're waaaay in to cleanliness and hygene, and just got the interior of the business remodeled.

We've gone back to Australian commentators (we get the Channel 4 feed when they're playing) and they're bitching and moaning about it too.
Though I did enjoy the little umbrella rain dance from the crowd followed by the shirtless reply by the Australians.

What an insanely simple idea for such a cool effect!
I'd love to see more UI tricks using this sort of 3D. Could be some cool effects to see windows actually float some over background items.
Obviously, as others have pointed out... the game potential would be amazing. I guess this is similar to what they use on the Nitendo 3Ds?

A net reduction?? Time to invest in a calculator there Chris. Driving your electric car does not cause a reduction carbon levels.
Although your mention of waste heat is an interesting one. Modern gasoline engines are about 33% efficient. Meaning 33% of the energy produced by the engine is in the form of kinetic energy - motion to propel the car. The remaining 67% is lost as exhaust emissions, and waste heat.
I did work it out. But you only did half of it. So 67% of the carbon in gasoline is wasted as heat. Most of it going out the tail pipe
Now assume you burn coal, convert that to electric power and use that to charge the car. I'll claim that waste heat in that process is less than 67%
But it's actually better because we are not 100% on coal. We use natural gas, hydro and even wind and solar. So all considered the electric car is much better. In the North East they use a lot of hydro power so a car there really is clean.
Next you have to look at the 20 year life of the car. The electric car will get cleaner every year as they slowly clean up older power plants. The gas car will always be a gas car. If you think about how much carbon is used over 20 ears the electric car look even better (depending on how fast they clean of power plants)

As a select developer I don't think I get access to radar... however i've heard many rumors the new finder is last, after the UI is finalized, adding coverflow and different views options in the finder...
Thankfully there will be. I know for a fact that the public build of Leopard is missing a lot of stuff. Most of it simply isn't finished and so not checked into the main Leopard tree. Some of it is simply not checked in because its not ready to be shown. Anyone with access to RADAR can find this info through some interesting searches.

Before asking why let's confirm whether. In an interesting melange of conflicting messages, Johann Hari claims that behavior during disasters the world over is surprisingly consistent (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/johann-hari/the-myth-of-the-panicking_b_837440.html), and similar to the Japanese response. The guy has some substance abuse problems, so how could she jump on a car and not think she was putting herself in harms way? A rational person might not drive with his wife on the hood, but this guy some history of drugs; which she obviously knows about. Add anger in the mix, and nothing good will come of it.
If the woman was willing to jump on a car, do you really think she would have let him walk away? She would have jumped on the cab, or flagged the bus down. Who knows? He could have made the situation worse by getting out of the car. The point is...he was trying to leave the situation and she wouldn't let him.
The guy is probably going to plead or be found guilty of attempted murder...but if she just let him leave, and stayed off the hood of the darned car, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
Based on your assertions, it would appear that the wife's temporary lack of judgement is inexcusable, but the husband's abuse of a controlled substance is an excuse for attempted murder. If the husband was under the influence of an illegal drug at the time, then that sounds like an additional charge to me, not a defense.
Assuming the husband had never reached speeds above 5-10 mph, and the wife tripped and broke her ankle when climbing off of the car, I'd tend to agree with your assertions that the wife is partially responsible. However, no reasonable person drives a car at high speeds with an unwilling person on the hood. I don't see how the husband's violation of additional laws can justly be used to place blame on the wife.

Well I'm a pro user and i welcome the new FCP and it's price.
I have a decent budget since I work for a corporation.
If I lost my job or decided to go on my own, $299 would make it easier to deal with than a seat with Avid.
Got it in one. I just watched an Indy Mogul episode and in the credits it was produced, presented and edited by the same person. She also interviewed people for a vox pop. End result looked good too. (http://www.indymogul.com/beyondtrailer/episode/BTT_20110415_1/scream-4-movie-review)
At the Supermeet presentation, the guy said "And it's only $299, which means you don't have to decide who gets a copy" (or words to that effect). THe last bit was drowned out by the crowd, but he meant that you no longer have to give everyone FCP/Motion/Color/STP/Cinema Tools if all they need is FCP.

wow, insane that they were finally charged 3 months after being arrested...
I have 2 friends in Venezuela that have been arrested, one for for 8 years prior the being charged to 30 years ON TOP of the 8 years he already has, and another one for 3 years already without a trial yet. Both politically related against Hugo Chavez.

I'm all for companies protecting their IP.
However, it seems like Nokia is grasping at straws here since they've been turn down a couple times already.
Also... I really believe that there should be a time limit on when you can sue a company over an infringement when there is a shipping product involved. Waiting until it's wildly successful and then suing is silly. If they cared so much about their IP, they should have sued 4 years ago when the iPhone came out.
