The difference compared to the old one is to small. I assume that many iMac users with an iMac 2007/2008/2009/2010 don't buy a new one.
Then you've not been reading the latest benchmarks. The top of the line will outperform my 2009 quad MacPro.
However, I'll agree that of the years you listed, the age of your current iMac is likely directly related to the chances you will upgrade.

I have many reasons why I don't like them and their religion. First and foremost is because of the fact that Israel and its "nazi-like zionist army" have committed crimes against humanity.. Killing innocent Palestinian men, women, and children just for being Palestinian. Israel is doing exactly what the nations of Eastern Europe did to the Jewish populations there in WWII.
2ndly, there is a strong parallel between Zionism and Nazism and also racism. If anything Zionism is the root cause for why this race is hated in the world. Their religion also teaches to not associate with Gentiles and others.. In case you don't believe me, look up the BABYLONIAN TALMUD and how racist and perverted it is.
Israel cares about no one, and the foolish idiots here in this "dying" country called America(dying b/c of economy and debt) are still supporting them.. I say, if you support the killing, apartheid machine then you are supporting the destruction of a race of people, namely the Palestinians.
For those ignorant of or not really learning about the true nature of the government of Israel let me refresh your mind a bit.. If those monsters had their way without Obama, they would finish the job.. Obama and the world had urged and forced Israel to stop building settlements, but yet they still do.
Remember, its simple mathematics. The Jews number today 13 million and this number is drastically reducing because of the large intermarriage rate and Jews who try to assimilate to be like everyone else. Judaism as a religion is dying as we can see.. I am happy there are Jews out there who are seeing the light that Judaism and Zionism are failures and that Israel has FAILED to help anyone or anything..

Taking a look at the pictures on iFixit, did it look like the CPU may be replaceable? That would be an interesting shift. Those brave souls could upgrade this machine albeit void the warranty. But most interesting. I like what I see.

Apple has to make a profit otherwise it would go under. Apple saw that the edu-iMac was taking sales from the normal iMac. Presumably Apple was making a smaller margin on the Edu-iMac. It made a commercial decision on whether stopping non-institutions buying the Edu-iMac would have a negative impact on total sales and obviously decided it wouldn't. That's standard business practice.
As things stood, the edu-iMac was "too" good value, when compared to the regular iMac. However I expect Apple to re-release the iMac with a Core 2 Duo (Merom) processor at the WWDC, but leave the Edu-iMac with the Core Duo (Yonah) cpu. When that happens (!!), I should think Apple will go back to the previous policy for educational sales on the edu-iMac.

This looks like a very real possibility. I've got three main questions.
1. How on earth can I build a case like that, or what options exist for building a case like this?
2. What type of software is available to run something like this, assuming I have a working knowledge of Linux (GUI Versions)?
3. What are the pros/cons of a setup like this compared to just getting a storage array and connecting it to a Mac Pro considering the fact that I want to be able to pull data from this remotely.
...And doesn't 4GB of ram seem like too little?

I love the new shuffle look. It is an excellent design.
There shouldn't be too many complaints about it being unable to function like the old one as a USB jumpdrive. USB jumpdrives are pretty cheap now, and many of them are so small that you can put one onto your keyring without noticing it. Buy a USB flash drive for your keyring, clip your shuffle to your pants, and suddenly the old model seems incredibly bulky.
I'm just worried about the space. 1GB isn't enough for me, even though it's a "shuffle". 2GB would hit the spot just about right, though.

Well that was 6 months ago they released the info on the 460x2 but I haven't seen any that has hit the market.

That faulty x3 1600w PSU I had, well I called them up and they shipped me a brand new in box x4 1600w PSU :D.
They did screw up and sent me a 600w lol which I have to send back and I did have to put a deposit on both but I'll get a refund once I ship them both back, the 600w and faulty 1600w.
All these people that claim Ultra to be ****** products, they do have excellent customer service and are based in my state so shipping was fast :D.

The official word has come down from BBY corporate about 20 minutes ago. BestBuy will start their pre-sales tomorrow 6/15/10. It will be in-store only. You will fill out a form and pay a 50 dollar deposit, and then you will be given a 50 dollar BBY gift card.
Despite rumors about the shortage of the white iPhone, we will be selling all 4 different variations of the iPhone 4 on launch day. We will not be able to setup appointments to come in and purchase the phone until we actually have the stock hit the store, but that will happen within the next week.
We will be selling what appears to be a fullbody Rocketfish case, and a fullbody iFrogz case. I do not see any Bumper/Bunker cases at this time but I'm still hopefull that we get some, mainly due to the huge employee discounts.
We will be selling the Zagg invisible shields, and will be selling them at the same price as the online website. http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/apple-iphone-4-cases-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php If you don't feel like you can install these yourself then the BBY mobile team charges about 8 dollars to install them. My suggestion from looking at the intall jobs from the store in my area... try to do it yourself.
There will be a 30 day employee hold on these devices to avoid client disappointment. Right now there is no official number on how many each store will be getting. When the pre-orders start coming in, that is what will decide our stock levels. We will be sent enough to back our pre-orders, and that's more than likely it.
Also, if you have any sort of a foundation account number (FAN) on your ATT account then that is NOT an issue, BBY mobile will still be able to sell you the phone at any available upgrade pricing you may qualify for. However, if you are currently on a concession line, or a demo line, meaning your bill might range from $10-$50 dollars, then BBY will NOT be able to sell you the phone with upgrade pricing. You will either have to go through your company's HR department, or through ATT to still qualify for the upgrade pricing. If you do have a concession line or a demo line, we can still sell you the phone, only it will have to be at the no commitment prices.

I’m pretty sure the end-to-end processing of your movements will take a bit of time making the 30 vs. 60 lag negligible. And 60 Hz is used because it that’s where most people would not notice excessive blur with their own eyes...which are faster than the human body. In the extreme case where you can throw a punch and retract it so fast that it can’t be captured in 30 fps…you’d be better off replacing Bruce Lee in the archives rather than playing games. :D

Yet what those hackintosh prove is that Apple is charging a "Mac Pro tax" of around 1000$, +/- a few hundreds depending on configuration. Even if that tax was only 500$ +/- a few hundreds, the question remains: why?
It just proves you can put Mac OS X on cheaper hardware. Which is why so many people do it. People have put Mac OSX on netbooks, but obviously a netbook would never be considered a workstation class computer.

Well done by Jon Stewart... I agree that the iPhone bit lacked research, and I do agree that Gizmodo crossed a line by buying a stolen device. I see Stewart's critique more in the sense of Apple becoming a Big Brother type of company, systematically favoring short term profits over long term customer relations and the high end quality that characterized them, and using its recent somewhat dominant position to push their media tech agenda.
I understand it is a big corporation and thus it behaves like one.... but Apple's loosing a key aspect of what made them successful, and made me loyal to them: the didn't thought of themselves as such and made an effort to keep their soul. Now I wonder what's Apple long term strategy... becoming the next Microsoft? or keep the competitive advantage that made them successful by staying within some limits?

Apple dugg a huge hole for themselves. They played with the marketing and PR department promising a truly revolutionary product like it is the case with each new iteration of the iphone and then the ppl believed and thought they REALLY REALLY need to have it.
Once they got it in their hands, they got offended that it is not working like they were told. It�s understandable on one hand but on the other it�s just pure irony that the ppl really believe they need a new cell phone every year. :rolleyes:
