My girl used to use a Candyshell (the light blue and pink one). Now she has a pink and white Otterbox Defender and she couldn't be happier which actually shocked me.
Generally, the ladies don't seem care about the actual style of the case or even it's functionality. The seem to only care about the color. Granted that is a blanket statement and doesn't apply to the entire gender but the past couple of girlfriends I've had have had this same attitude towards their phones.
That does not apply to geek girls :D.
For me function first and then style.
My current favorites and why:
1) SWitcheasy Vulcan Smoke. The slimmest full port covering case.
2) Casemate Hula black. Shows off my Luckylabs stickers and the phone looks almost naked while still having some lay on table.
3) Otterbox Commuter. One of the thinnest fully protective cases, plus pink and white is sexy!
4) Waterfileds pouch (sfbags): To keep the cased phone from getting scratched with all the crap in the pocket/purse.

my vote is for the XT ati products are denerally better then nvidia one and tend to last longer
but thats just my 2 cents worth
ROFL! What?!
They both are equally good companies and have equally good products.
How does the ATi "last longer?"
As for the thread question. I would say the 850XT because its definately is better over the 6800GT.

Dual Dell 2405FPW's would be nice. Best of both worlds.

5:32 PM - there are about 40 of us in line. Not too bad.
One mother and teenage daughter just walked by and asked me what we were waiting for. I told her, and she looked at my macbook and said "Is the software for that thing?" I said yes. Turns out she bought a macbook for her daughter yesterday and no one told her about this... I told her about the $10 update cost for recent buyers. Funny.

I might be moving to Australia from the US and want to know if my iPad 3G w/w-fi would work there? I know my iPhone won't work there so I assume this won't either.

As far as the font smoothing goes, it annoyed me at first, too. Everything looked so fuzzy. However, after a few months of using Macs, I've grown accustomed to it. Now, when I use a PC again, I can't believe how harsh and jagged Windows looks to me.

If you can find the class or id that the css is referencing for the popup, you should be able to change the z-index in the css of that element. That might easily fix the issue. You could also change the z-index of the element that contains the pdf to -1. That might work too. Or both.

I believe that you still need to program the NAM on the phone, but having never seen a Verizon iPhone I don't know whether a jailbreak is required for that or not. You'd also need to know the SPC although I read somewhere that all Verizon phones just use 000000.

Personally, I've always been a bit touchy about buying electronics on eBay. If I were you, I'd go for an actual retailer.
http://preview.tinyurl.com/3tdwj9p (link to a Newegg search for the RAM you need)
That guy on eBay is selling each 4GB stick for $39, while Newegg has a pair for $80. The $2 difference (perhaps less after Newegg free shipping) is worth the peace of mind IMHO. I have a pair of 4GB G.SKILL sticks in my mini, and they work perfectly. Also, you should be fine with 8GB - I have that much in my early 2009 mini, and it's a peach.

Though of course, like most people on this forum, I regard InDesign (or any Adobe product) a vastly superior tool to MS Word when it comes to laying out a page, I do know that there are several good reasons for producing a CV in Word.
I do a bit in recruitment and we use a CV parser to extract raw text from CVs, which then gets saved into a database. While our system will handle PDF without a great deal of issue, it much prefers Word and will extract more reliably.
Most agencies will use a similar system and I would wager if you asked them what file format they would prefer you presented your CV in, most would say Word. After all, the purpose of a CV is to get you some work, right? So make it as easy for them as possible.
In my view CVs should be relatively simple. If you want to show off your design skills, do it in your portfolio. I often see the odd CV which has been 'over designed' and I kind of mentally roll my eyes and think, 'just give me the info I need'. Word is capable of nicely formatting a CV. Not with the typesetting finesse of InDesign perhaps, but well enough.
Anyway, doesn't answer this question. How about creating a similar file without your personal information but using the same fonts, etc., converting it to PDF using the same method and then posting it up on here for people to have a play with. We may find out what the issue is.

well this ought to keep the open source people very happy.
Seems like apple is trying to do what they can, but not do it in a way which will sacrifice security.

Transporteur: after all the research and different configurations I've done over the last 24 hours, I've come full circle back to the one you recommended, which was... :D
1 OS SSD, 1 scratch SSD, 1 bootable backup (1TB), 1 3TB storage drive, 1 3TB backup drive.
The only modification I have here is to use a 2TB storage drive as I want proper versioning out of Time Machine with that using a 3TB drive.
The other thing I'm thinking is to add a 6th drive to clone the storage drive, so if that does fail, then I can work right off the cloned drive with no down time. What do you think about that?
Oh yea, also a 7th drive (I know, this is getting out of control) for weekly clone back ups of the boot, scratch, and storage drives that will be kept off site.
Edit: How does this drive look for the scratch drive?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226168
And this one for the boot drive? It's only 70MB/s write but write isn't that important on the boot disk, right?

From the FAQ:
What is an "infraction"?
An infraction is a semi-automated reminder from the moderators about a rules violation. The forum system sends you a standard message about the rule, and may include an explanatory message from one of the moderators as well. Even though one moderator's name is shown, it is not a personal issue; the moderators operate as a team and know of all assigned infractions.
Infractions are private. The infractions you see on your user profile page are visible only to you and the moderators.
Although the forum system assigns "points" and durations to infractions, they are meaningless in practice. We do not use these features. Instead, we use infractions merely as reminders about the rules.
Please do not ask others to share their infractions.
If you want to discuss it further, use the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page.

When searching on google, clicking on a link then returning to google it used (on pc) to return you to the last item clicked so you could continue from where you left off. Now it takes me back to the top of the page and I have to find my place again which is annoying.
I don't know if theres a setting I need to change or something? Can anyone help please?
Thanks.
