Hi elevenpower,
I just a few hours ago set up my D-Link DI-624+ wireless router. I tried to set it up using my PC but nothing worked. Im new to this networking caper so I dont know what im doing.
However I just tried it on my new PB and everything works great. It just set itself up without me having to do anything. The PB just found the router for me and it worked - just liek that! So im quite impressed with D-link at the moment (i hope it lasts). Not only does it work for my PB but also my PC. So my advice is to set up your router using your mac rather than a PC.
I have read on these boards that Linksys ones seem hard to install.
This very second im connected to the net writing this message while watching The Bill on the television. Ive got 3 bars reception. I get pretty good reception throughout my house - which is a 1920s federation with thick brick walls (some double brick). I stuck the router in my Kitchen between my study (where my PC is) and my bedroom and lounge room - that way I get much greater coverage. No dropouts as yet!
D-link stuff isnt that expensive either. Im also using a wireless PCI card (DWL-G520+) on my PC to connect to the router which works well too. Better reception than the Aiport card in my PB.
One caveat: D-link tech support is crap. They are a bunch of patrionising bastards! Well in Australia they are.
Hope you find a solution.

I don't know how to fix it, but you could turn it into one of those ipad cases. Send it to me if you don't want it. :o

It appears to me as though every app that didn't come preinstalled can be removed through launchpad now.
Maybe things that are installed after the most recent update. I still have apps without X's.

I'm really looking forward to inFamous 2. It's supposed to be released some time next year. The first one was so much fun, so I can imagine what they will do with the second one.
inFamous 2 trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2uAMnsqqI-0)
inFamous 2 gameplay (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAwkUscboH4)
I only played the demo of the first one - a lot of feedback said the quests got repetitive after a while - I guess you didn't feel that way...?

Missed by many yesterday due to the fervor of the WWDC Keynote address was an announcement (http://lists.apple.com/archives/Darwin-dev/2006/Aug/msg00067.html) by Apple's Open Source Project Manager, Ernest Prabhakar, concerning Apple and its Open Source initiative.
Mac OS Forge
With the recent announcement of the demise of OpenDarwin.org (http://www.opendarwin.org/), Apple has stepped up to the plate and has created Mac OS Forge (http://www.macosforge.org/), a community site hosted by Apple to "support WebKit and other open source projects focused on Mac OS X, especially those looking to transition from OpenDarwin.org." Current projects include the Bonjour, Collaboration (iCal Server), Kernel (XNU), Launchd, and WebKit.
XNU x86 Source Released
Apple has released the source code for the Intel x86 version of the Darwin Kernel, beginning with Darwin 8.7 (Mac OS 10.4.7). While apologies were offered for the delay in releasing the source, no explanation was given. Speculation had begun earlier in the year that Apple was closing the XNU x86 source (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/05/20060517144323.shtml) due to piracy concerns. MacGuides has an introduction to Darwin (http://guides.macrumors.com/Darwin) and XNU (http://guides.macrumors.com/XNU) for readers unfamiliar with the technologies.
iCal Server Source
As many readers have noted, Apple has indeed released the source for iCal Server (slated to be released with Mac OS 10.5 "Leopard" Server) under the Apache License (http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.html).
Other Licensing Changes
Bonjour and Launchd projects are now being distributed under the Apache License. The projects were previously relegated to Apple's Apple Public Source License (http://www.opensource.apple.com/apsl/2.0.txt).

I'd get the MBA & Gaming PC.
Just get a minimum i5 quad processor, a high end graphics card, and 4gb of ram (I'm just assuming all you're doing is gaming, so of course just change those specs to meet what you need) and you'll be playing everything far better than you would with that Macbook Pro and you'll still have the Air for portability.

I think it is more likely that MacBooks disappear and a redesigned MacBook Air takes the centre stage as the entry level Mac laptop.
I agree. Apple's low-end laptop will be the Macbook Air.

To reset the password, boot from your Original OSX CD and under the menu select "change password". But I'm a little confused on your question... not sure what "it just installs or sends it right to the trash." means.

I know! But it sure does look cool from space.
Yeah, but I imagine it would look just as cool with more efficient, more directed lighting. Plus, just think how much better our view of the stars would be.

Hey All,
I am a newbie and I had read these forums for sometime now and Really didnt want to input my ideas since there was so much of resourceful people in this forum. anyhow I would really like to ask someone maybe someone a expert at it. I have a Apple Iphone 4 which my friend bought from italy since I didnt want to be tied to a contract or pay At&t for a locked phone anyway since I do travel overseas a lot. The model number it shows on the about page states is as MC605IP, I just want to know wether is this a factory unlocked phone or not.. Cuz Im kind of scared of updating it and loosing the unlock. it anyhow has Cydia installed.

My girl used to use a Candyshell (the light blue and pink one). Now she has a pink and white Otterbox Defender and she couldn't be happier which actually shocked me.
Generally, the ladies don't seem care about the actual style of the case or even it's functionality. The seem to only care about the color. Granted that is a blanket statement and doesn't apply to the entire gender but the past couple of girlfriends I've had have had this same attitude towards their phones.
girls generally dont care for the size of the phone case because they usually carry the phone in their bags unlike guys who carry them in pockets...

Yes. Horrible viewing angles and overall terrible image quality in comparison to IPS or VA panels.
There are no LED backlit IPS panels other than the Apple Cinema. If you really want an LED (why exactly?) you have no other option.
That's not true. LG have a relatively new LED backlit IPS monitor series, I believe they do a 20, 22 and 23 inch. No 24's though and they're all in 16:9, not a problem for me personally, but I know some people like 16:10.
Alternatively there's an array of RGB backlit HP Dreamcolour monitors just shy of $2000, but they're fairly hideous.
I'm also confused, what's the desire for LEDs OP?

Is there a way to do this?
My wife syncs her iPhone on a PC - not a mac.

Wow, where the hell did this come from?
Sounds cool.
Also sounds like AT&T is shaking in their boots about the possibility of the iPhone going on Verizon and whipping out the big(ger) guns.
its u-verse. it has nothing to do with mobile carries

You can use CSS to hide the scroll bars (overflow:hidden), then use JavaScript to set the scroll amount on the iframe. I'll let you search on that as I don't really have the time for it.
