I was always under the impression that A/C wasted more gas than leaving the windows open. I mean it takes a bunch of energy to convert refrigerant from a gas to a liquid state, and then to pump that refrigerant through your car to make the A/C work.
I also thought that if the windows were down, the air in the car would flow out through the windows because it wasn't moving, while the air outside the car was, resulting in lower air pressure outside the car than in.
Maybe someone can explain ... ?

Sacriest of all we are the only hospital within like 40-50 miles.
everyone comes here and the hospital is continually expanding, which may have caused the power outage because of the construction workers cutting something they weren't supposed to.

Time Machine is not the best fit for your needs. Time Machine will let you tell it what you don't want it to back up, not what you do. In other words, you can't tell it to just back up your Music folder +1. Apple used to offer an application known as Backup which kind of does what you want, but its only available to MobileMe members at this point. You should also see whether the manufacturer of the hard drive offers a utility on the drive itself that allows you to schedule backups of a particularly folder. Someone else may be able to recommend other software for you to try.

Based on my experience with the iOS App Store:
When you submit an app to the store, the store performs an automated series of validations (is there an executable? do you have a developer account? did you rate your app?). It sounds like Apple has made that automated series of validations available as a stand alone app. That way you can run the validations before you submit to the App Store, and use the results of the validation to clean up your submission (if necessary).

If it was just the screen, the iPod would still sync with your computer. I had a problem like this before and I just left mine alone for a few days until the battery ran down, then it started working again.
If nothing else works, you may just have to chock it up to old age (6 years is an eternity in Apple's walled garden!)

Make sure they are gone because u don't want duplicates after this:
Go to google and search iPhone Explorer, it's an app that allows u to copy things from your iPhone to iTunes. I lost my library and did this, it will transfer the song it's album art, info, and lyrics etc. And it will do apps and photos too if needed. When u connect the phone open the app and u click on your phone and it will give u lists of files just go to music then do it by artists or individual songs.

I refuse to touch anything in the apple store. I never pick up any demo units, people are disgusting and don't wash there hands.
You must get sick a lot since your body has no germs to practice on. Washing your hands in a public restroom is almost completely negated the moment you touch the door handle to leave...but good luck with your sterile lifestyle.

I would try some of hitachi's drive tools, especially drive fitness test at the very least
http://www.hitachigst.com/support/downloads/
Thanks for the advice. :D
When I get home gonna try that.
Btw, I forgot to mention, Smart utility is reporting that load cycle count is growing up at about 4 cycles/min (+/- 2000 when I left home) and about
1 milion Power-off Retract Count .
I dont think that is right. Right?

Hello I'm new to the forums and to Motion and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to make a constant thin sparkly line.
1. Library -> Particle Emitters -> Glitter Sparkles -> Apply
2. Open Layer Panel
3. Delete bottom 2 layers
4. Click on Glitter Sparkles main layer group
5. Go to Inspector tab -> Emitter tab
6. Set Shape to Line
7. Set Start Point X to -(1/2 of the size of your canvas)
8. Set End Point X to 1/2 of the size of your canvas.
9. Change color over time features to suit your color needs
10. Adjust Life parameter to suit your needs.
I've attached a render of what it might look like.

A tip for everyone wanting to watch video on a Sony PSP:
Having trouble putting video on your PSP? Do the following:
Download 2 applications from the internet: Handbrake and PSPware. Both are free/shareware.
Put the DVD into your Mac and use Handbrake to transfer to MPeg4.
IMPORTANT: make sure you choose the right language and/or subtitles here!
Next: transfer the MPeg4 file to the PSPware window. PSPware will automatically transfer your MPeg4 file to your PSP (make sure it is connected to your computer.)
This procedure is time consuming but al least it works properly.
Should you have discovered an easier way, please let me know.

The MS isn't bad now, I saw a 4GB Duo for $69.99 and 2GB ones are always under $75. I have a 1GB one and it has enough room for 3 south park episodes, a movie, and some MP3's.
Come on now ;)
It's hard to get an actual price for a 4gb Memory Stick duo. They range from 20 to 140. Have to just use Aria, since they stock original goods (ie. not eBay)
2gb Memory Stick Duo- 45
2gb SD- 13

If any only if you feel like trying a grand experiment (nothing harmful, just complicated till you do it once), try THIS (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=805573&highlight=mac+automator). They're automator (think script) functions that control ripping and converting of DVDs to avoid user interaction.
I've been using them to bulk-convert my DVD library. Once the initial setup is done (~20 minutes to install all the software), you just insert a DVD. The script will detect this, and ask whether it's a TV show or a Movie. You'll then be asked the title (95% of the time, this will be prefilled from the DVD volume name, but not always), and then it will rip the disk to your hard drive.
Then later, and you can have ripped anywhere from 1-100 disks to your drive, you start another automator function that uses the command-line version of Handbrake (no user input necessary for this, and it's faster than the GUI) to convert the ripped disks to a format that iTunes/iOS likes. (h264 MKVs). Also supports BlueRay burning if you want to make this a substantial investment, but I'd start small ;)
The end result to this are MKV video files that are a very reasonable size (~1.2GB if SD, ~1.7 if HD) that include subtitles, iTunes tags, as well as poster art for the Cover Flow file browser.
I'd be happy to help you implement this (I can Teamviewer into your machine to help you setup). No other reason than it's an excellent solution that will help you to convert your life away from physical media. (No charge lol). After the initial setup is done for the scripts (majority of it is just downloading the needed 'helper' applications), it's simple and quick. <<That offer is open to anyone, btw.

jdusoccer12, what category best describes the USB cable fraying...
Battery, Charging, and Power. And then it asks what accessory and you select the USB to Dock Connector ( or whatever they call it )

Just picked up an Otterbox Defender and I love it.
My question to the people who own this case is how does it hold up over time? Is it best to leave the phone in the Otterbox 24/7 or should it be taken out on occasion to prevent damage?
