I'm still not too sure how gestures would work to control such a device unless there was a camera. Have you see the "gestures" video? It would be done by physically touching the iPod. No camera needed.

I just sold my previous 27" iMac and I'd like to order one of these new ones.
Can anyone tell me if I should get the 2GB GPU option considering I have an external 27" Cinema Display hooked up the iMac?
If not I'll spend it on extra RAM and a third-party SSD drive.

We are wrapping our best week ever, PPD is now 175k and our outlook is better.
Yet we only have two people using bigadv units... We can do much better :cool:
alright! and i am going to give the bigadv units another shot. but it's not looking good right now - just under 43 min for my first 2 frames. not sure what's going on. i've gotta install some updates on ubuntu and see if that helps

You don't get final versions of the software they release in the dev program.
The Gold master will not get software updates post release date.
you are able to get access to developer builds of each software update and the GM of each of those

The one thing that Apple TV is missing an actual TV could incorporate in the bezel is a FaceTime/Skype Camera. There are TVs on the market, marketing Skype integration, albeit with ugly bar mounted top cameras instead of integrated ones, but that is what we need for home video chats with relatives.
But really just add a FaceTime app to the Apple TV 2, and then either an integrated camera, or a micro-USB webcam using the Apple TV 2 USB port.

Sorry, not likely to happen given the razor-thin profit margins for televisions nowadays, especially when you have Samsung, Sony, VIZIO, Panasonic, LG and a couple of other brands fighting it out already in the large-screen flat-panel market.
I don't know - Apple has a history of working very well with high margins in markets which traditionally had low margins. They've proven a few times over that quite a few people are willing to pay more for design & integration.

Should I buy the ix.Mac.MarketingName now? I've heard the ix.Mac.MarketingName 2 is going to be much more betterer. Should I buy now or wait? I was waiting for the price to come down, but it hasn't changed in the entire 5 minutes I've known about this product...

If it has retina and Thunderbolt, I'm getting first gen. You can always sell it on Craigslist the day before Gen 2 comes out for twice what you paid for it.

It's possible that the device has not yet been approved in other countries, and Apple rushed the release because it leaked yesterday.
More likely Apple leaked it on purpose to build excitement for the release. Anyway, my Mighty Hamster is on the way.

I know when lion beta was first released it would lag and freeze a lot! also it was very unstable, 80% of the apps would crash constantly.
