aswitcher, could you explain a bit more to me what you mean by
"802.11n pending firmware upgrade..." since you're the first to mention this at all? Does anyone know if this new MBP will have 802.11n at all (for the iTV)?
The last round of iMacs are supposed to have new airport extremes that can be firmware upgraded to 802.11N. This is based upon a finding whilst using bootcamp and windowsXP/Vista(?). With Apples special TV thingy coming out next year (Steve Jobs announced at WWDC) all Macs really need wireless faster than G so it makes sense to upgrade them all to "n". So I strongly suspect the latest macbok pros have it - and it will be enabled next year.

In subsequent interviews, Donna (her real first name; she goes by the name of "Treasure" on the BBW adult site Supersizebombshells.com) admitted that going for the record was more of a fantasy than anything, stated mainly for her online fans and FAs. Id love to see a new standard for "HD". 1440p would be nice...but current media would have to catch up. That said, I dont think Apple could make a cost effective television. Sorry, but theyd sell a 42inch TV for 2000.000 easy.

Stop it please, you're hurting me... OpenStep is a specification of which GNUStep is a GPL licensed implementation released by the GNU project. Foundation and Cocoa are the NeXTSTEP acquired implementations that Apple is using.
OpenSTEP is not licensed under a GNU project license at all...
POSIX is not a kernel. It's a standard programming interface that UNIX systems used to make sure that one program written for a UNIX system would compile another as long as the standard was followed.
Minix, while being a POSIX compliant OS, was a complete implementation done by Andrew Tannenbaum for a book he was writing.

There is a difference between sales and market share. Without a doubt, part of the appeal of android is cost - it's just cheaper to buy. However, it's not as simple as you suggest
Some people buy it so they can have a larger screen, some because they want a keyboard, some because they have specific hardware needs (e.g. The US Army), some because they do not want to live under of the heel of Steve Jobs twisted moral code. I could go on, but it's become the proverbial dead horse. Sure, Android has pitfalls in that it can run almost anything, but I would rather have the freedom to make a bad app choice than to live in the walled garden that iOS is becoming.
In short, the freedom to make choices, even bad ones, is superior to being spoon fed like a baby as Apple tends to do.
Then too each their own. Obviously, you don't care for Apple's way of doing it and we could argue the pluses and minuses, but I don't think Apple's way is the wrong way. It's different and seems to be working fairly well too given they are company to beat in many categories right now. And as much as you love all the freedom with the Android based phones, I also think that is one of their problems. But again, we could debate forever.
Either way, you consistently feel your point of view is the only point of view. I don't feel "spoon fed like a baby" by using the iPhone. It does everything I want a smart phone to do plus some and there seems to be a ton of consumers out there that agree.
You know, you'd be much more respected here on this forum if you'd stop with the back-handed comments and ridiculous statements. Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but you can do it in a constructive manner and not a childish and shallow way. For someone that does seem to have some intelligence from time to time, you have a habit of totally destroying any credibility you might have.

I always wondered if the rumors of the iPad3 for September is actually a smaller tablet designed to compete against the Barnes & Noble Nook Color and (possibly) an upcoming Amazon Kindle Android tablet. It would feature iOS 5, Retina Display (for easier reading), the iBookstore, and could run iPhone or iPod Touch apps. Market it as a separate product, and maybe even use the iBook name again.
Then again - after seeing a TV commercial for a Samsung TV that has a bunch of apps, maybe the Apple HDTV set isn't a bad rumor either.

You know what's funny? I've had ATT for over 5 years and have barely had 5 dropped calls and one of them was an iphone OS issue with OS 2.0. I live in the Silicon Valley so maybe coverage is just exceptionally good in my area, though I recall coverage being decent over in the Adirondacks in NY two years ago.

Got one for my wife today. It's pretty sexy looking in person...pictures don't do it justice. I think it looks way nicer than the white iPad 2. Anyways, it definitely is SLIGHTLY thicker than my black iPhone 4.

Update looks great, especially the new graphic card options.
I am disappointed that the SSD prices are the same as last year. US$600 for a 256GB SSD option. I was hoping for a big price reduction. (or at least a little price reduction...)

"You know, that might just work." lbor ran back to the ship and came back with a book that said Don't Panic on the side of it. He flipped it upside-down popped out the fuel cell and tossed Don't Panic aside into a nearby mud puddle. The fuel cell was a size BBB, but the portal needed a BB. lbor, in desperation wedged a few coins into the cell slot along with the fuel cell.
The portal soon turned on and opened into another real, that just so happened to be warm and sunny with little elves walking around. "No, I don't think that's right." lbro said as he spun the Z hold knob. After seeing many wonderful things, he finally got it right. Yeah, isn't it nice when people decide unilaterally what is "professional" and what is not? The distinctions are totally arbitrary of course, but it's easy to see how by virtue of this thinking, Word remains dominant. Nothing else will do, because nothing else will do. What a wonderful tautology.
For the record, I've been using Pages happily and successfully since it came out. Version 2 is an improvement, as well it should be, but that's a long way from saying that version 1 was worthless.
