There comes a point, after years of each announcement being "Thinner and Lighter!"
That I have to say, "No thank you"
Too light and it feels cheap, too thin and it'll become weak, Apple have developed an unhealthy obsession with "Thinner & Lighter" everything. There has to be a balance.
Im also guessing they'll expect us to be really impressed that they've spent all this time making it 0.3456mm thinner and 4 grams lighter. With Steve showing a hundred side-by-side comparisons.
Thinner case = smaller battery, as battery technology would have most likely improved since the iPhone 4, why not stick the same sized battery inside, and then boast about the massively improved battery life?

Moto Android phones play AAC iTunes music just fine too.
One of the reasons why I picked the phone I have now.
I have a large iTunes library that I have no desire to repurchase or convert to another format.
DoubleTwist syncs them over without any issues.I will have to take a look at DoubleTwist, again.

Here is my take on this.
Apple has this market wrapped up. People don't know what an MP3 player is, they know what an iPod is.
Those who love the Zune are hypocrites. Everyone hates the iPod. Why? Inferior everything. Plus you are locked into the iPod/iTunes/iTMS and can't do what you want with your music.
Now, MS is doing the same thing. And everyone praises it. They are pulling the same add campaign as Sandisk was. Conforming isn't cool, don't be a sheep. If everyone starts buying a Zune aren't you still a sheep if you buy it? Not to mention they are dumping PlaysForSure, the DRM they helped build, and screwing tons of people who have bought PFS music already. Not to mention screwing their partners.
The fact that the will buy you out of iTunes shows what kind of game they are playing. They don't care about consumers, all they care about is winning. All I can say is they are 5 years late to the ball game. Good luck.

It annoys me too but it works out pretty well for Apple and I'd much rather pay extra for the i7 than not have the option at all. Look at the latest MBPs compared to the previous ones, Apple bumped the GPUs up significantly but charged $200 more and yet everyone is happy.

I strongly suggest against a refurbished model of older revisions. It is similar to purchasing a Core 2 model. The base 21.5" Sandy Bridge once it hits refurb would be tempting at ~$999.
Agreed about the Core2 models, but I still think it would depend on the price of the refurbed. There's a 3.33GHz core 2 duo on there for $1040, and a 3.06GHz Core i3 for $930; same GPU different HDD size. The i3 would be the better choice if one weren't able to get the extra $200 or so for a new model.
This is the first worthwhile iMac solely based on the stillborn potential of Thunderbolt and the quad on the base models. It only took 5 years.
QFT. My initial post in this thread mentioned the Old Skool Apple because at the very least we've got iMacs that don't offer 80% laptop parts with a nice screen. I'd say we are at 40% laptop parts now.
