Yea... I got tired of waiting for Ultrasnow, and I recently received a replacement iPhone on 4.3.1, which cannot be unlocked at the moment, so I had to go the Rebel Sim route.

They had a few good ones, but those ads overstayed their welcome imo. They need something fresh. :)

But you will have to start again if you want to edit again.
Its best just to decide what you want to keep. When I edit my summer project, I'll store all my footage on a firewire harddrive that is not backed up. And I'll also store the footage on DVDs as an archive (so i'll always have them - a backup in itself, if you will).
The project files, however, should only be relatively small so I'll keep them local and backed up. When finished I'll delete all files off the firewire harddrive (Well maybe one episode at a time after they're released). Thanks very much. At this time I only have 4, 5 min videos so starting from scratch is okay but I can see in the long run that will not be a good idea.
Thanks, I am glad I found this forum I am learning something new everyday :)

What client are you guys using on your macs? I went to the stanford site to download their mac client and all I got was a page not found error. There download list works but when you click to actually download the program the page isn't found.

Just took a look at the software and am downloading it right now to check it out in demo mode. I am looking forward to cataloging a number of videos, books, etc., as well as having a way to share said resources with family and friends.

So awesome. I want to ordering a battery for it. How would I do this? Can I just use AAA's? My batteries are very old and 1 of the batteries in the pack had some acid coming out, so I removed it before and cleaned it out before damaging it. :) I just want to try it. I think the Newton is pretty sweet because the first iPad about 15-20 years back now. :)
Yeah, standard AAs will work fine. The Apple battery pack is just a pre-packaged set of four NiMH AAs.

There is support in the 2011 MBP. The 2010 foes not support SDXC, so i guess it will just not register if you put it in the slot. I'm guessing the best work around would be a usb card reader.

Continuation of discussion from my thread:
I figure if we are going to keep talking about yours we might as well do it in your thread.
I think this is the best creative one, well other than mudbugs's spam one, but it doesn't count.
I still find mine sexier though

Been about 10 years since I last spent a significant amount of time with Macs but I wanted to try OSX and it was time to get a new machine for my day-to-day computing chores (word processing, internet, finances, music, archiving, etc.). Didn't need to be powerful and I didn't want to spend a lot of money but I wanted something portable so I got an 800Mhz ibook. I couldn't justify spending another $300 on the 900Mhz model just to get the combo drive since I already have a firewire burner I can use at home. Besides, if I spent an extra $300 for that, I may as well spend another $300 and get a 12" powerbook. Then I'd be a long way from my cheap computer. ;)
It took just a few hours for my iBook to make a mockery of many Switch ads. I knew they were BS when they first aired but I was surprised to see so many contradicted in the first few hours.
My email didn't import properly. All of the folders are there but most of the big ones are empty or only have a single message. :P I also had a crash the first night. I came back to the computer and found a black display. At first I thought it'd just gone to sleep but the light wasn't flashing and the screen's backlight was still on. Then there were the drivers. I actually had to download drivers for my MP3 player and printer. The horror. ;)
But enough griping. I really do like my little iBook. It runs OS X great. The battery life is better than I expected (and I haven't even done any power-saving tweaking). I've got 60 gigs of space which is enough to carry everything I need and a lot of stuff I don't need. The airport card works with my old wireless gateway. I've been able to find software to do just about everything I did on the PC. The sleep mode is awesome. I still can't get over the recovery time. It's ready to go by the time I get the screen angle adjusted. After that initial crash, it's been rock solid. I've only rebooted after installing drivers and I think I've got them all loaded now. The next reboot will probably be for an OS update.
The screen is bright and the fan hardly ever comes on, even if the CPU is running at 100%. (I installed the folding@home client so I could see how often the fan would kick in.) Even with the CPU at 100% and the airport card turned on, battery life is still decent.
Okay, a couple more gripes. WTF is up with the one-button mouse? Yeah, I know. "Get a real mouse." I did. A nice cordless optical mouse. But that doesn't help me when I'm on the move. I don't want to lug extra stuff around. Why can't my track pad have two buttons?
And what's the deal with anti-aliasing? Why does everything need to be "smoothed"? Makes it look like I've got the display set at the wrong resolution. I put TinkerTool on there but it seems that some apps just ignore the setting and "smooth" the fonts anyway. Come on, Apple. Let ME decide how I want text presented on MY computer. Put a "none" option in there and make it stick.

My Macbook (black) 2.4 GHz (early 2008) running 10.6.7. freezes after 3-4 min. on wakeup from sleep mode.
This problem started about two weeks ago. After been woken from sleep mode I have about 3-4 min. of use before the computer freezes, so there's no respond from neither the track pad nor the keyboard (not even caps lock turns on the light when pressed), the screen is kept on, but nothing but the power button in the corner works.
I don't even get the spinning rainbow wheel or anything - just freezing :(
What to do?!!

And yes you can turn the volume up and change volume setting in the settings. Not original box bit I have a brand new box to ship it in. Oh, and it's its any consolation or 'bragg' this was the iPhone of a celebrity :)
well we can only "bragg" if we know who the celebrity is. Who???
PS: I call dibs after the rest!

eMacs are awesome. You'll appreciate the screen, the hard drive and the GPU to name a few things. :)
Those are all the the things the Mac mini didn't have - no screen - 80GB HDD compared to 160GB and 4200RPM compared to 7200RPM - ATi 9200 32MB compared to ATi 9600 64MB, 8x DUAL LAYER DVD+Burner compared to a DVD+RW 4x... blah blah blah.
I'm very excited! :)
