Royal Wedding

yesh people, this is a story of dreams, of fairytale.

His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton said their vows today, in the Westminster Abbey, and are now declared husband and wife. yep, she WAS a commoner, turned princess plus duchess. and the Prince, well, is the Prince of Wales, with all his riches and blue blood and long line of monarchs before him. The second-in-line for the Brits throne. The love of the people; Diana-man personified.

well, many things can be said about this wedding. For one, the most awaited part of the wedding, the long-anticipated wedding dress. honestly? i think it's a disappointment. it's super simple, or WAY too simple, and gee, am i disappointed?! YESH. please, i feel so cheated. i was expecting Diana-worthy grandeur and i got a simple kebaya-style dress? oh god. kill me. i mean, okay, i heard that it's a sarah burton by alexander mcqueen, and that dress requires super freaking high techniques to sew, but yet still i feel, DAMNED. where's the princesa feel? it is figure-hugging, but WHERE ARE THE ACCESSORIES? BLINGS? GRRR. all the beauty and simplicity of the dress aside, i've got two words for this couture: extravagance-deprived.

next up, there are various news circulating the world, different country-wise. i guess here in aussie, they highlight on the fairy-tale feel and the commoner story and the history of the royals' togetherness. how the girl stroke lucky just by going to st andrews, meeting wills and retaining his attention for time and again. the one in my home country, on the other hand, speaks criticisms for the prince, his uni life and his co-habiting with the now-princesa, and also sniggering that young kate actually went to St Andrews to capture the Prince of Wales' heart. it also speaks of how he is actually ehem, going to be rather dependent on Kate. it is mostly filled with speculations of kate's future roles in the queen's shoes and as will's faithful partner.

there are also really many stories comparing Lady Di with our current princess. while the lady may be the epitome of dream-come-true and teenage innocence, this one is more of the intelligent, polished commoner ready to take on the world and grab what she wants. Lady got married when she was still a teenager harbouring fantasies, while the latter is plunged to the royals' politics fully knowing what she's getting at. Wills is going to be pretty protective of his new wife too, seeing as to how he witnessed the tragic attention of the media on his late mommy. it was a tragedy, alright. such a down-to-earth, charismatic lady meeting such tragedies in her life and yeah, love life.

geez, i really hope i can grab bites of what was served in the celebratory dinner in the after-party! GOD. petit fours and canapes and salads and those main courses and champagne! GOD. wanna wanna. and yeah, for the matter, i missed the two-times balcony kiss. THE tradition. THE long-awaited showcase of their eternal love. OW. but there are no tounges or the sort, so well i don't feel to left out ;p. the pictures taken of them are... passionless. no fire, no nothing. only the meeting of lips. whuat --'. very traditional, appropriateness-abiding.

some short notes:
-caught a glimpse of Prince Harry. /sighs and drools
-Kate didn't insert a ring onto Will's finger, wonder why is that?
-Camilla, and Prince Charles.. (gosh i wish Will is the next in line for the throne, or whatever).
-victoria Beckham is d a z z l i n g. and so is Kate's older sistie. elegant, beautiful. perfection you both!
-some eagle eyes caught Wills mouthing 'you're beautiful' to Kate in front of the altar, and the bride was blushing furiously. how schweet is THAT? <3

forever as husband and wife, for the better or worse, in riches or poor, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

well, i do wish the Earl, Baron, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both the Prince and the Princess a long-lasting, happy marriage. well, readers, after all, your hopes are dashed, and i've never dreamed of becoming a royal at all.
