Anybody knows if the game will refuse to launch on a MBP with an ATI x1600?
Or maybe a way to fool the steam games?

Ordered on 3/18, and original arrival date was 4/27. Within the last hour it updated to an arrival date of 4/26. Woo hoo, any movement in the right direction is appreciated.

It actually is a terminal window. (The application in Applications/Utlities)
I only wish I could make my finder windows transparent...
Too bad. It would be a cool feature.

OMG the telephone is white! OK, can MACrumors focus on macs now and leave iOS devices for a while??
Haha. I don't know where you've been for the last 1-2 years, but iOS dominates 95% of MacRumors. It's what sells (page views) man!

Salts of magnesium are used in fireworks, yes.
Chunks of metal? Nooooo, that would just be shrapnel. Setting magnesium metal on fire takes a lot of effort, so nobody get started on "I left my IPod in the sun for 20 minutes and it blew up!" threads.
cool... will see the inevitable return of the "man-auto-set-on-fire" urban legend... :D :D

One thing you have to know is that IT people that work in schools are most likely political appointees, they know nothing and are worth nothing.
Make sure you get your laptop back.
Appointee...??? What are you talking about, it's not a position of office!!
Fact is in most places they probably get paid more than the teachers!

Competition is great, but they’d have to do a LOT to compete with Netflix’s total catalog. (Their streaming catalog has disappointed me a bit, but well worth the low price even so!)
Obviously if this happened, Apple would favor streaming. But they COULD have a legitimate use for a massive physical DVD inventory as well. They have a huge campus with lots of parking, and hanging optical discs overhead works even better than car-lot flags, for the purpose of scaring birds away before they defecate on hard-working employees’ vehicles.

Your argument would be valid for the G4, but doesn't really hold much water considering that G5s were the PowerPC equivalent to a Pentium 4 - they have 16 stage integer pipelines and can go as many as 25 stages depending on the instruction.
OTOH, they could hold twice as many simultaneous instructions as a P4 could.

Garmin/Tomtom and co should be scared.
They've been scared for a long time. The combination of Navigation systems now not being limited to premium luxury cars and the increasing capabilities of smartphones, I have no doubt their sales have seen a steady decline over the last 2-3 years.

... indeed, for me, the screen does present a potentially serious compromise, mainly the shape. but, i figure i'll give it a shot and worst case scenario, i bring her back and take home her bigger sister.
... though that would make the holidays a bit awkward. :(

Will pirates be able to use this technology? I'm not sure how successful the eye tracking will be when using an eye patch.
Arrr, the beauty of this is that it works for people who only have vision in one eye - Google "Wiggle Stereoscopy". Presumably it be head tracking rather than eye tracking.

I don't really like the idea of the macpro line-up having different chips.
I know in order to produce a quad lineup.. they'll have to, and it makes little difference to the end user.... but the idea of using "lesser" chips in the low end model bugs me.

Your biggest problem is that you gave them your computer. Never give it to anyone, just say ok I'll stop and be done. They cannot make you give it to them, they aren't the police. It is their rules on their own network so you should follow the rules and if they ask you to stop then stop. Just remember, don't give up your computer. I hope you get it back and all goes well.

Why don't they ust have the video for download????
I think we use more bandwidth trying, and trying, to see it, then if I could just spend 30 min downloding it.
pluss these would be great to show friends / fam with slow internet connections
