are you people making this all this fuss over C2D MB's coming out? or is there more expected from the update....like the true ipod video? i dont see how a C2D MB could bring so much excitement....there's not THAT much difference in performance.
We don't need no freaking iPod's right now. Show me the Honey!!

What does it mean to "recall"?.
what do you think it means?
And i called apple, they basically told me tough luck right now and i will have to wait basically till tomorrow to check the website because they are still updating it
Because the tech tried to input everything on his side and it wouldn't accept it either.

This is the correct one:
https://depot.info.apple.com/batteryexchange/index.html
That appears to be separate from the one at
https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/index.html
The first one look like an earlier recall although it affects some of the same model batteries.

Who says that they have to honor Grandfathering of Plans?
did you read the first 9 words of my post?:confused::confused:
here i'll repost it for you:
I don't know if they "legally" are required to
I was just saying, this is what they do...
Hell I even remember when the Palm Pre was released on Sprint talking with some people who had some premier type account (don't remember the name) from way back when that was not offered anymore, and even they got grandfathered in....

I once considered the 20" model but found its screen a bit small for movie or TV viewing.
Now the 24" model is good enough. But will it ever have a built-in TV tuner?

I just upgraded to CS5 a few months ago for $600. The 5.5 upgrade would cost another $400. Adobe is easily my least favorite company in the world.
Just like an iPhone, you really want to get it at (or soon after) release to get the max "value" before it gets superseded!

While for me, $500 is a "pretty big wad of cash to throw down", there's more to it than strictly looking at the dollar figure. EG. Do you have a kid or kids that might benefit from being able to use the new iPad you're about to purchase? Do you have legitimate uses for it that go along with EARNING more money, or maybe even the ability to write the whole purchase off as a tax deduction the next year? When you spend $20 on some beer or a few bucks on some food, it's a consumable you use once and throw some trash away, and then you have nothing to show for it.
One thing I know about myself is, I'm very hesitant to spend much on "instant gratification" type of entertainment. I practically never spend money on tickets for sporting events or concerts, and maybe buy a movie ticket once a year. I've often skipped summer vacations completely because my employer didn't want me to take time off when they had important projects going on, and I just opted to get paid for the days instead. I don't even have cable or satellite TV at home, because I hated watching $60 or more per month just vanish into thin air, with nothing concrete to show for it later. So when I do spend my money? It tends to be on bigger-ticket items I know I'll get a lot of use out of for years down the road.
So frankly, in my relationships, "respect" is just as much about my partner respecting my ability to make sensible purchasing decisions and NOT demand I consult with her first, simply because it's something a lot more expensive than a fast food order.
The basis for any good relationship is communication. And I am not sure what kind of money you make, but $500 is a pretty big wad of cash to throw down and it should merit a conversation with your spouse. Its not like you threw down a $1 on a cheeseburger, or $2 on a scratch off, or heck $20 of beer. You spent $500, thats like a whole months utilities. Thats a car payment. Thats a few hours of tuition for your kid's college one day. Its no chump change.
And household income should be considered just that, household. It does not matter who makes more money, it should be community, and if you're spending $500 on an iPad, then you're lady should be able to spend $500 on a coach purse. How would you feel about that?
Non-necessities, expensive purchases should always be discussed. There is a need for open, honest communication in a marriage. If you don't have that, and you are running around buying ipads without consulting them, well unless you got a fad wad of cash, you likely wont stay married long.
Its about respect. If you don't respect your wife enough to discuss a $500 purchase with her, then you don't deserve to have the companionship of a female.

The amount of crap in this thread is amazing:
1) Flash could never be a normal 'App' because it has to operate as a plugin for Safari since it's not a stand alone product on its own. For this reason, it would at the very least HAVE to be co-developed by Apple and included in a software update.
2) The primary reason Apple don't want to allow Flash, Java or any other runtime environment on the iPhone is because it would mean that developers would be able to bypass the App Store and Apple's own development tools. This would weaken the entire platform because there would be less incentive to develop native iPhone applications. It would also have the consequence of handing control over part of the entire platform to a third party - imagine if Adobe decided to stop producing Flash for the iPhone. Where would that leave Apple?
3) The Mac and PC versions of Flash differ because the underlying operating systems are fundamentally different particularly in how they handle hardware graphics acceleration. Blame for the poor performance of Flash on Mac OS X has to lie primarily with Adobe because they produce the software and Mac OS X includes very solid, highly optimised 2D and 3D graphics APIs.
4) Flash video using the older Sorenson and On2 codecs will not play properly on any current mobile device because there is no hardware optimisation for those codecs. Only video based on H.264 has broad hardware acceleration support (including the iPhone) so even if Adobe and Apple did bring Flash to the iPhone, it still wouldn't solve all the video problems.

Judging from history what do you thing, when would iLife '07 be available?
I am seriously considering to wait a little longer (the 1.83 model has left me strongly disappointed).
So I thought I can wait a little longer and buy when iLife 07 will be included in the purchase (to make up for the lousy specs )
id guess Macworld in january

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer says his company will not lose money on the sale of its Zune digital media players this holiday shopping season, but admits it won't make much money either.
Ballmer said his company's upcoming Zune player fits into the hardware model because the value, if its successful, is all in the software. "It's in community [the ability to share music and pictures with other Zune users]," he said. "I want to squirt you a picture of my kids. You want to squirt me back a video of your vacation. That's a software experience."
...now think of this when you share your zune with the girl sitting next to you...:p

They still do :)
The nice thing about iPad is it is that sort of a Trojan Horse consumer item.
It is far from a toy, though it is a "toy"...
I've been saying for a while that Apple is serious about getting a more established cred for their gaming business and this is another example.
Now parents can buy their kids (and themselves) a gaming device with free to $10 (...etc) games.
Long term it's a better investment than a lower cost handheld or console when you figure ALL of the games are at the price level lower than the majority of the games you'd buy (@ $20-$60 a pop) with a Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony device and aside from the Arcade level downloadable titles.
You also get FAR more utility from an iPad.

What's your point? That competitors will now also use 8MP sensors? Well, they already have been using them for quite a while. Apple is simply doing a catch up here. By the time iPhone gets 8MP, other phones will have 10MP or more.
more MP's ≠ better photos.
more MP's ≠ better photos.

Screw Wal-mart! They should shrivel up and die. I grew up in the epicenter of Wal-Mart's birthplace and it is nothing more than a plague on small-town (and larger city) life.
