"Mac OS X v10.5.6 or later: A Safe Boot deletes the dynamic loader shared cache at (/var/db/dyld/). A cache with issues may cause a blue screen on startup, particularly after a Software Update. Restarting normally recreates this cache."

"To start up into Safe Mode (to Safe Boot), do this:
1. Be sure your Mac is shut down.
2. Press the power button.
3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.

Line is 3/4 around the building now, back to the Wachovia Bank entrance. Gotta be 300+, easy.

While the 3D thing might not interest you, the 3DS is much more powerful than the current DSi, meaning much better graphic capabilities. So if you ever want to play anything other than Pokemon Black in the next couple of years you should wait for the 3DS.
If you're not really interested in gaming on the DS or doing anything other than Pokemon Black go ahead and save some money buying the DSi.
Not only that but you can filly adjust the 3D effect to your liking (including completely off) but again, I wouldn't knock it till you try it. I'm pretty sure Mario kart and ocarina of time 3D are going to be epic beyond people's predictions.

Awesome! Can't wait to see it :) don't let the Apple police find you. FOr anyone who quotes me, yes I realize that this probably wasn't stolen property. It's what we call a joke.

I suspect the success of Zeus and other botnets that target Windows is due to Windows XP admin accounts being used for day to day computing and possibly, on a much more limited scale, users turning off UAC in admin accounts in Windows Vista/7.
If this new Mac botnet modelled after Zeus does not become as problematic as its Windows counterparts albiet in terms of percentage of user base infected, this will show that much of the malware problems out in the wild are due to users running with elevated privileges and that utilizing an authentication mechanism by default is effective at inhibiting malware. Basically, it will show that the average user is not as helpless as AV software vendors try to make users feel.

Chillin in the reservation line. This is crazy how many people showed up.
I showed up about 3:50am and found a line with 100 or more people. With the supply issue I don't they have that many for walk-ins so I came back home and went to bed. It will be interesting to see if anyone post how many they had non-reserved.

Just so you know there are no military applications that benefit from this.
Well, that's not true either, weapons modeling comes to mind for one, so does mapping and GIS work, nuclear physics, both modeling (though, like MD, most likely done on a cluster, not local) and post-process...

Ugh, I just bought CleanMyMac. Could you elaborate more why these products are bad to use? Thanks
I've also noticed that CleanMyMac sometimes deletes important system files which can lead to problems down the road. Id just consider it a waste of $15 or 30 if you paid for a lifetime license :o and just never use it.

On the screen it had the usual style buttons, but it says "Auction" on one of them, maybe they are starting auctions on their site too.

What geographical location are you in?
Also, if you are running Safari, you can open the Activity window and see what file it's getting hung up on. On the right, it should say "Waiting" or something like that
If it turns out to be an adnetwork, we are working on improving the load time for those with some changes.

Well my quad core i7 MPB turned up this morning, so the first thing had to be to see how well it folds!
It's just the stock 2.0 GHz 15" version, but initial indications are good.
It downloaded a 6701 WU, which do tend to be slower than the others, so I'll update these figures once its done a few different units.
TPF: 11 min 46 s
PPD: 6184
CPU temp: 85 C
Fan speed: 4667 rpm (both)
Power draw: 58-59 W (screen off, 62-63 W with screen on)
For comparison, my 2.4 C2D iMac does about 1400 ppd using 75 W, but at a much cooler 54 C.
Feel free to add your own Sandy Bridge numbers for comparison.
Keep folding!
Rob

I notice that too, not a big deal, just don't scroll near the video.
I agree.
Im sure people can survive without having to scroll with the pointer on the video:D

Well, if you don't need edit away from home the iMac would be better just cause of it's specs and screen size. The macbook air would work if you needed to edit on-the-go. Also if you have a large amount of photos/videos the iMac could hold it all. With the mba you most likely would need to bring along a portable external hdd.

Hey guys I'm new to this jailbreaking thing and had question and I hope one of you iPhone wizards can help me out. I was wondering if I am running on 3.1.3 firmware right now(my iPhone is currently jailbroken) if I were to update my firmware would I lose the jailbreak?? Would it unjailbreak my phone with a firmware update? I really don't want to try and re jailbreak it, will I have to or would the iPhone still remain jailbroken even if I update?? Help would be much appreciated guys!! Thank you in advance
What model iphone?
Yes every time you restore or update you lose your JB and everything installed. You have to rejailbreak and install your stuff again.

The Apple Store here is closing from 4-6 to get ready for the Leopard release. I can't see what they need 2 hours to get ready for.

Airplay, yes.
Home sharing streaming to the phone from iTunes, no. That needs 4.3.x.
Come on Apple, get a move on!!
That's what I want is the home sharing I have no use for airplay right now.
