This is about as real of a concern as the people making all the noise about global warming. Sure there are issues here, but it really looks like the efforts of people associated with theses scares are more about self promotion and self enrichment than anything else.
Seriously? I think most scientists agree that global warming is a very real phenomena. Your comments sound kind of ignorant in light of that, especially since you bring up a highly politicized topic in this context. Any responses are bound to sound off topic/political/inappropriate. Perhaps you should spread your counterfactual views in the political forum where they belong.

If they have in fact done away with in and out points I'll be curious to see the discussion boards explode with rage. I don't know that that it has to be a bad thing, though. If they can create new and more effective workflows that pull less from the old ways for the sake of progress then bring it on. They'll have to convince me that it is in fact better but I'm willing to see what they have to offer. That said it'd be silly of them to force everyone into entirely new workflows. I hope they grandfather in some FCP Classic features to ease the transition while we get used to the new regime.

Just called apple. He said that anyone who orders today will not see their ipad till after Apr 26th. I ordered mine on the 15th it's ships on the 21st arrives on the 26th. Haven't seen a change in my shipping date. Hopefully I'll get bumped up eventually.

On the first day of the release at RadioShack, I was third in line at a store @ just after 8 am, and... the store only received two iPad 2s. Doh! Put my name on a list but that's been pretty much useless.

who needs 8gb, sheesh. i barely use 2gb of my 4gb of ram as it is. even using photoshop, I have never seen it max out.It is dirt cheap and you do not get much of a price benefit purchasing lower density DIMMs.
Depending on the speed 4 GB x 2 hovers around the $59-99 sweet spot. I remember buying my 4 GB back in 2007 and this was in the age of 1 GB in Apple's notebooks.

If you don't like iCal and it doesn't fit your needs, try something like Entourage. Maybe coming from your PC background it'll feel more at home? Part of the MS office suite. Yes I know MS ewww. But it's there

Interesting app. Unfortunately the place where my phone drops the most also has a funky gps issue. My iPhone usually says I'm located anywhere from 10 to 20 miles away (and yes, it has the pin point orb thing and not the you're in this general area circle). So I can report the problem but AT&T will get some random spot in the city and not the actual position.

I just fired it up to report an issue and you can move the map around and center the RED X exactly where you are located. I got mine set my actual street address. If you put it in the general area of where you live and then zoom in on the map, you can position it to a much great degree of accuracy.
It's actually quite useful, so here's hoping the get the rest of the nation blanketed with 3G like verizon. I don't care if it's the fastest, I just don't want EDGE or ROAMING :)

I'd add that the Desktop Celerons are junk (especially when you can get the budget-priced Pentium D for something like $130).
But the Mobile ones are actually a fairly good chip at a fairly good price. So long as the rest of the configuration is acceptable.
