Celebrate The Holidays With How The Grinch Stole Christmas Broadway NY by Al Terry

With the holiday season just around the corner, many families are hoping to get their hands on tickets for How the Grinch Stole Christmas Broadway NY. It is the perfect way for both adults and children to enjoy a great show that really inspires the Christmas spirit.

A Children's Classic

How the Grinch Stole Christmas Broadway NY is adapted from the classic children's story, written by the phenomenal Dr. Seuss. Seuss was known for writing a number of wonderful children's stories that were in rhyming verse and usually dealt with whimsical and imaginary creatures doing strange things. Some of his most famous stories are, The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a who and Green Eggs and Ham.

The story of the Grinch however remains a favorite and is usually best remembered around the holiday season. Not only is the book a strong seller even today, it has been adapted numerous times to television and the stage. It was even made into a major motion picture that featured the multitalented Jim Carrey as the mean-spirited Grinch.

Despite being a rather unlikable character, many people with tickets for How the Grinch Stole Christmas Broadway NY cannot help, but feel a little sorry for the Grinch. After all, he may be mean-spirited and bitter, but he is also very alone, except for his loyal dog. It becomes apparent that this loneliness only heightens The Grinch's feelings of jealousy, when he looks down on the warm and wonderful town of Whoville from his desolate little cave. The more he sees the town celebrate the coming of Christmas, the more he resolves to ruin it for all of them. He decides to steal all of their presents; trees and decorations because he thinks, these are what Christmas is all about. When he sees that Christmas comes to Whoville anyway, he experiences a change of heart and is welcomed by the people of Whoville.

The Grinch of Broadway

The very first musical production of this story was put up at The Old Globe Theater in San Diego in 1998. It drew heavily on the animated feature that had been running since 1966. The show proved to be such a hit that it quickly made its way to Broadway and made its debut in 2006, running for the entire Christmas season. It is the first ever-musical production on Broadway, to offer an astounding 12 performances a week. Again, the production proved to be so popular that it is coming back this year with a mind-blowing 15 performances a week.

The new run of How the Grinch Stole Christmas Broadway NY has three brand new songs and brings back the talented Patrick Page, who played The Grinch in the 2006 production. The show promises to be an entertaining feature for both adults and children alike. It's also a great way to celebrate the Christmas season with one of the best-loved stories from one of the best children's writers of our times.
